Play Walking Cricket in Bexhill

Walking cricket is part of the expanding range of walking sports and provides an accessible way for anyone to get involved with competitive sports and be more physically active. It’s inclusive, social and fun, and a great way to meet new people.

  • It’s been around for a while now. Walking cricket has existed in pockets around the country as far back as 2014
  • Encouraged by links with Age UK, various Cricket organisations throughout the country have been running try-out sessions to gauge interest and establish a common set of playing rules.

What is Walking Cricket?

  • A slower paced version of the game that we all love. It’s a game for everyone!
  • It’s an opportunity for people to play the game indoors that is more accessible than other current formats.

What makes it different?

  • As the name suggests, the game is played at walking pace. There is no running allowed and it is played with a softer ball.
  • Each session, the group gets opportunities to score, umpire and play, so players can if they wish,  learn new skills, keeping both their mind and bodies active.
  • Walking Cricket delivers cricket skills to players of all ages and abilities. This format provides an exciting way to keep fit and active for those may not have played for a while, those whose injuries may have stopped them playing, or for completely new players to the game.

Why Play Walking Cricket?

Walking Cricket makes cricket accessible to older adults, or individuals who are semi – retired or retired. Walking Cricket is about much more than playing the game. It helps older people keep physically active, supports mental health and provides the opportunity for socialising with other like-minded people for some who may otherwise feel isolated.
