As members know playing fees went up to £2.50 a session (£1 extra for tea and biscuits!) in April to help offset the shortfall we face on paying for hire of the sports hall at Bexhill Leisure Centre. Still excellent value for a 2 hours playing on Wednesdays and 2 and a half hours on Fridays.
Good turnout in recent weeks on both Wednesday and Friday. We had 15 players on Wednesday Sep 9th, including 3 from Eastbourne where walking circket is now played regularly on Monday mornings. Fridays tend to be slightly more popular often drawing 18 to 20 players.
We are now playing with a couple of new bats sourced from Gary Stanyer at Spyderbats, an independent cricket shop in Stoke on Trent who do mail delivery and provide an excellent service.
Plenty of our members report winning free lucky dips on the Rother Community Lottery. Reminder to members to renew their lottery subscriptions as this is an important source of funding for the club.
