Bexhill Walking Cricketers prevail over Eastbourne in closely contested 20:20 fixture, Running Allowed!

Match report T20 Eastbourne Walking CC v Bexhill Walking CC 28th May 2026

Played at Eastbourne Sports Park

Today saw  the second T20 match between Bexhill and Eastbourne.

Bexhill won the toss and asked Eastbourne to bat first. The competition between bat and ball was close all the way through the innings. Lead by Lawrie with 2 wkts at a cost of 12 runs in 3 overs, Bexhill bowling was supported superbly by the fielding and after twenty overs Eastbourne had set a total of 182 for the loss of six wickets, thanks mainly to an unbeaten contribution by Ayub with a fine 60.

The Bexhill innings started very steadily and after seven overs was up to the required rate. A couple of quick wickets didn’t slow the run rate and a superb partnership between Stuart with a top score of 73 not out and Peter saw Bexhill reach their target with three overs to spare, for the loss of only three wickets!

The match was played in an excellent spirit and the sportsmanship shone through! Many thanks to Alan for excellent umpiring and to Andy for keeping score accurately.

It was nice for Bexhill to taste victory this time but the real winner was the game of cricket!

Well done everyone, look forward to seeing you at walking cricket soon!
